Eric Gauthier and Virginie Brunelle – Video : Robin Pineda Gould
[ZOOM] on the progresses of Virginie Brunelle and Isabelle Arcand, last April, with Gauthier Dance’s dancers
In april, Viriginie and Isabelle went to meet the dancers of Gauthier Dance for the first time. They are now back in Stuttgart to end the last details of the choregraphy of the montrealer artist.
Some days before she came back in Canada, Virginie talked with Eric Gauthier about her experience in Stuttgart as a choreographer for his show (discover it in the video!)
Today – wednesday 27th june – we’re officially 15 days before the World Premiere of “Grandes Dames” in Theaterhaus Stuttgart. This new show created by Gauthier Dance will present 5 choreographers around the same inspiration : to pay tribute to the women in contemporary dance, from yesterday to today.
Eric Gauthier and Andonis Foniadakis will present “Electric Life”, a piece dedicated to the beautiful Louise Lecavalier ; the choreographer from Berlin, Helena Waldmann, who was also in the theater universe before, will show poetic and politic gestures with “We Love Horses”. Marco Goecke – co-worker in National Ballet of Canada and Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) among others – will pay homage to the great feminine figures of contemporary dance in Germany. Virginie will present “Beating”, a piece which deconstruct the classical techniques, showing a complex and touching humanity.
